Born and raised in middle Tennessee, Leah grew up on a farm raising registered Polled Herefords. Being interested in animals from a young age, Leah spent 9 years showing cattle and sheep in the 4-H program. She decided to continue pursuing her love of animals and graduated from Berry College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Leah spent her summer breaks working part time at LHAH, and joined the staff full time in 2014. She anticipates either continuing her education in animal medicine or perhaps a career in nursing. When she isn’t spending time with her two dogs, Kyra and Patty, her cat Holly, or her six rabbits, Leah enjoys hiking and exploring the Smokey Mountains.
